Halloween Baking Ideas To Do With The Kids

Halloween is a perfect time to get creative in the kitchen with your kids, whipping up spooky and delicious treats that everyone will love. Whether you're hosting a Halloween party, looking for a fun family activity, or just want to enjoy some homemade goodies, here are some Halloween home baking ideas to do with the kids:

Pumpkin-Shaped Sugar Cookies:

Start by making a batch of sugar cookie dough and roll it out. Then, let your kids use pumpkin-shaped cookie cutters to create pumpkin cookies. After baking and cooling, have them decorate the cookies with orange icing and green icing for the stems. Add mini chocolate chips for eyes or use black icing for jack-o'-lantern faces!

Mummy Cupcakes:

Bake a batch of your favourite cupcakes, and once they're cooled, let the kids pipe white frosting in a zigzag pattern to create mummy bandages. Add two candy eyes to each cupcake to make them look like spooky mummies!

Spiderweb Brownies:

Bake a pan of brownies, and when they've cooled slightly, help your kids drizzle white icing in a spiral pattern on top. Then, using a toothpick or skewer, drag lines from the center outwards to create a spiderweb effect. Add plastic spiders for a creepy touch.

Witch Hat Cookies:

Make or buy chocolate-covered sugar cookies, which will serve as the brims of the witch hats. Then, have your kids dip sugar cones (ice cream cones) in melted chocolate and place them upside down on top of the cookies. Add a small amount of orange or green icing for the hatband and a buckle.

Ghostly Marshmallow Pops:

Skewer marshmallows with lollipop sticks and dip them in melted white chocolate. Once the chocolate has set a bit, use black icing to draw ghostly faces on the marshmallows. These make for spooky and tasty treats.
