Gladioli purple flower is a truly magnificent plant. Standing between 1,2 m and 1,5 m (4 and 5 ft) tall the plant grows large purple blooms on long spikes. Not all the flowers open at once. Gladioli open their flowers in groups, moving up from the bottom of the spikes and leaving other buds closed tight above them, waiting for their chance to open. The Gladioli buds are a gorgeous deep indigo colour and open to show their light and dark shades of purple on their velvety petals.
